Top tips for pre-event marketing

For a successful exhibition that achieves your desired results, follow our five tips for pre-event promotion.

1.    Pre-book appointments

Target your prospects and pre-book your appointments so you can predict your stand traffic and busy periods - very useful for planning your stand’s staffing too. Remember to check if your exhibitor uses a diary or appointment system.

2.    Use the organiser’s publicity channels

Contact your exhibition organiser’s PR team as soon as you’ve booked your stand to ask about the publicity opportunities on offer and for access to their media contacts.

3.    Give people a reason to find you

Ensure your target customers and prospects make a beeline for your stand by using teaser mailers, postcards and e-shots to give them a compelling reason to hunt you out.

4.    Use your website

Add a landing page to your website with clear reasons to come and see you at the exhibition and a link to register for the show.  And don’t forget to use an exhibition related email signature in the run up to the show.

5.    Harness the power of social media

Use the exhibition hashtag as you build up excitement for the event on Twitter, you can also start to build the conversation with your prospects and other exhibitors and attendees by following the hashtag stream.
